The Patient Care Officer serves as the front desk in charge of all patients/clients in the clinic. Responsible for welcoming and guiding patients as well as taking their vitals signs etc. Part of the task is to perform clerical receptionist duties and admin tasks as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve clients by greeting, welcoming, directing, and announcing them appropriately
- Answer, screen, and forward any incoming phone calls while providing basic information
when needed - Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers
- Monitor APE/PEME/ECU endorsements.
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, collating, printing,
cashiering etc. - Maintains a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and
regulations. - Maintains continuity among work teams through regular communication and precious
documentation. - Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Primary Caregiver. Provides caring care for clinic patients; measures vital signs,
anthropometric measurements, and visual acuity. - Able to respond to basic patient queries and answer incoming phone calls
- Able to properly handle patient complaints
- Authorized HMO Representative. Prepares and secures requests and approval for
specific procedures required by HMO. - Reconcile billings with clinic records ensuring correct data entries.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Background and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any medical allied course
- Prior experience in a healthcare/diagnostic clinic is desirable
- A basic understanding of medical and healthcare terminologies, technologies, protocols, etc
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google GSuite (Google sheet, Google docs, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail
- Willing to be assigned in BGC
