Job Objective / Purpose:
The Medical Affairs Data Encoder will work closely with the APE Coordinator to ensure that all relevant documentation from the physical examinations is complete and accurate before coding. The APE Coordinator might assist in clarifying any ambiguous documentation or ensuring that the healthcare providers provide the necessary details. S/he will ensure that coding aligns with the services that were scheduled and performed, helping to resolve any discrepancies.
This role will be hired under ActiveOne Health, Inc. - a RelianceUnited company for a 3-month project contract.
Background and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or certification in health information management, medical coding, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical encoding, with a focus on physical examination results preferred.
- Proficiency with medical terminology, especially related to Annual Physical Examinations.
- Knowledge of ICD-10, and other medical coding standards.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in medical record systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of data privacy and confidentiality standards, including DP Act compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data Encoding:
- Accurately input and encode results from Annual Physical Examinations into the google sheet tracker
- Utilize ICD-10, and other relevant medical coding standards where applicable.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of patient information and examination data.
- Data Management:
- Maintain and organize digital records for all encoded examination results.
- Regularly update patient records to reflect any new findings, corrections, or updates.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct routine quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of encoded data.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to resolve discrepancies or missing information in examination results.
- Confidentiality and Compliance:
- Ensure that all medical data is handled in compliance with DP Act and other relevant data privacy regulations.
- Safeguard patient information, ensuring the security and confidentiality of sensitive data.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the health information management team, doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to streamline the medical encoding process.
- Assist in generating reports or summaries of physical examination data when requested by the medical or administrative team.
Work Conditions:
- 3-month project-based
- 8-hour work days, Monday through Friday
- Assigned in Greenfield District, Mandaluyong City
