Overview: The Radiologic Technologist (Imaging) performs diagnostic imaging procedures, specializing in cardiac catheterization and mammography. In this role, the RadTech ensures accurate imaging, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory standards while assisting physicians during interventional procedures and breast imaging exams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate imaging equipment for cardiac catheterization procedures, including fluoroscopy systems.
Assist cardiologists during invasive procedures (e.g., angiograms, stent placements) by managing imaging and radiation safety.
Perform high-quality mammography exams.
Prepare patients for procedures, explain processes, and ensure comfort and safety.
Maintain accurate imaging records and upload studies to PACS systems.
Monitor and maintain imaging equipment for optimal performance.
Adhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during procedures.
Participate in continuing education to maintain certifications and stay updated on best practices.
Qualifications:
Education:
Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (BSRT)
License:
Registered Radiologic Technologist; Mammography certification is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 1 to 2 years in Cath Lab imaging.
Experience in mammography procedures and quality standards.
