Job Objective / Purpose:
The objective of a Technical Buyer is to procure specialized equipment, machinery, and services required for a project, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This involves understanding technical specifications, negotiating with suppliers, managing procurement processes, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support the company’s operational and strategic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead on procurement for assigned projects
- Handle bidding and project implementation of different projects including construction, medical machines and equipment, preventive maintenance and calibration services, IT solutions, etc
- Prepare and coordinate procurement aspects of the project preparation documents, review and comment on the bidding document and evaluation reports, and consolidate comments, requests for clarifications and/or revisions for approval by the relevant stakeholders
- Project negotiation and awarding
- Discover new Vendors for hard-to-find supplies and services
- Maintain a database of accredited Vendors
- Tactical Procurement
- Negotiation and Cost savings strategies
- NetSuite PR to PO processing
- Expediting and de-expediting deliveries
- Coordinate with different stakeholders for smooth operations
Background and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Health-related courses
- At least four(4) years of relevant work experience in Supply Management particularly in the field of Procurement
- Strong negotiation capability
- Health Industry exposure
- Experience in ERP Solutions(e.g. Net Suite, ARIBA, etc) is an advantage
