Job Objective/Purpose:
The Medical Liaison Officer (MLO) visits all admitted members in the assigned area and ensures that members understand their plan benefits and limitations. The incumbent works with members and/or their families to address concerns or special needs that may arise during in-patient availment. MLO also provides support in facilitating availments (e.r. APE, ECU, PEME etc) of members, especially VIPs.
The important part of the role is to work directly with various internal departments in the organization and hospital departments to address issues with the goal of facilitating a positive patient experience during the time of availment.
This role will be hired under Health Delivery System, Inc. (HDSI) - a RelianceUnited company.
Background and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree, preferably medical related field.
- Training & Experience: At least 2 year(s) of solid working experience in the related field is required for this position. With experience working in a hospital, TPA / HMO or insurance companies.
- Working Conditions: Full-time position. Eight (8) hour days, Monday through Friday. Occasional work on weekends and beyond operating hours may be required as job duties demand. On-site visit to hospitals is expected.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patient Monitoring
- Visits and establishes rapport with admitted patients/members and their families.
- Educates members on benefit coverage and plan limitations as it relates to their availment.
- Patient Assistance
- Ensures that all requirements (i.e. LOA, Philhealth, Senior Citizen card etc) are submitted and all disapproved charges are paid upon discharge.
- Acts as an intermediary to various hospital departments on behalf of patients and their families. Also serves as Flexicare PIC to members during hospital stay.
- Responds to and investigates complaints and concerns and communicates identified issues to appropriate departments.
- Works with individuals or concerned departments in appropriate time frames to limit or resolve delays in the delivery of service.
- Assists members, especially VIPs during confinement, APE, ECU or out-patient availment as endorsed by the Accounts Management team.
- Ensures that all APE, PEME, ECU requests are scheduled within 24 hours from date of requests.
Work Conditions:
- 8-hour work days, Monday through Friday (Occasional work on weekends and beyond operating hours may be required as job duties demand. On-site visit to hospitals are expected.)
- Assigned in Greenfield District, Mandaluyong City
- Occasional travel to build partnerships with institutions and organizations may be expected as well as attendance at relevant conferences/events.
