Job Objective / Purpose
The primary objective of hiring a Sales Assistant Manager is to support the Sales Manager in achieving sales targets, managing sales activities, and providing leadership to the sales team. The Sales Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of sales strategies, overseeing daily sales operations, and ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Sales Manager in developing and implementing strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives.
- Support the Sales Manager in setting sales targets and goals for the sales team.
- Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports to the Sales Manager, highlighting areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
- Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Train and develop sales staff to enhance their product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service abilities.
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new sales team members.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to ensure alignment of sales activities with overall business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and clients.
- Handle customer complaints and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities and threats.
Background and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or any related field.
- Additional certifications in sales, healthcare services, or account management is a plus.
- At least 2–4 years of experience in a sales or business development role, preferably in healthcare, insurance, wellness services, or related industries.
- Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets, particularly in B2B or direct sales environments.
- Experience in handling client accounts from lead generation to post-sale service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Strategic thinking with a proactive approach to problem-solving and opportunity identification.
- Ability to conduct presentations and client pitches with professionalism and confidence.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and other sales tools for tracking leads, sales activities, and performance.
- Team-oriented but capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of healthcare programs, wellness solutions, and industry trends.
- Client-centric mindset with a genuine interest in promoting health and wellness.
