Job Objective / Purpose

 

The Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Manager is responsible for the strategic overview, provision and development of OSH Services for ActiveOne Health and its external client accounts.  

S/he will also provide oversight of the functions of the OSH Department and provide guidance in implementing and monitoring the OHS policies and procedures across the company’s sites. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

OSH Expert

  • Compliance to OSH and DENR regulations and other relevant regulatory requirements such as having adequate OSH personnel, training and registration of PCO managing head, completion of DOLE mandatory reports;
  • Meeting Service Level Agreement (SLA) of current clients for OSH consultancy:  attending regular OSH meetings, providing DOLE and COVID updates, give advice on client’s OSH compliance requirements and answer any OSH-related queries, provide standard OSH bulletins or lectures;
  • Develop new OSH service offerings and craft business proposals for prospective clients and contract renewal of existing clientele;
  • Keep up to date with new legislations and maintain a working knowledge of all OSH-related  legislations and any developments or issues that may affect the employer's industry and inform management of areas of non compliance 
  • Develop effective working relationships with partner organizations who can support the company’s  OSH initiatives e.g. PCOM, OHNAP, UP-DEOH, DOH, DOLE: OHSC and BWC 
  •  Help improve the standards of on-site clinic management processes by integrating OSH practices and ensure they are executed across all A1 clinics.

 

Environmental health and safety (EHS) Manager

  • Work with business stakeholders across Reliance on OSH matters to ensure effective support for all  initiatives and provide collaboration and continuous assistance to other departments and units across Reliance
  • Conduct periodic inspection of the workplace as required under Rule 1961.04  
  • Ensure that all requirements for DOLE accreditation as Safety Consultancy Organization and Safety  Training Organization are complied with and facilitate processing of accreditation. 
  • Directly supervise and is accountable for the company Safety Officer (SO), providing the SO with  instructions, guidance, and performance management.
  • Lead the company EHS committee to enhance and promote safety and health within the organization through OSH programs and services for employees. 
  • Builds the OSH functional capabilities through periodic touchpoint, internal coaching and orientation  related to OSH in order to support all service requirements.  
  • Prepares timely health and safety strategies and develops the appropriate internal policies as needed  while keeping existing OSH policies updated.
  • Perform other tasks as may be required by the Reliance Leadership Team due to business need.

 

Background and Qualifications

 

  • Must be a Registered Physician 
  • Must be at least a diplomate of PCOM (Philippine College of Occupational Medicine) or with Master’s in Occupational Health.
  • Must have 2 years of clinical experience as Occupational Health Physician.
  • DOLE accreditation (Practitioner or Consultant) is an advantage. 
  • First Aid, Basic Life Support, ACLS training is an advantage. 
  • Experience as a trainer is also an advantage.
